Leadership
The purpose of this page is to give you a little history and perspective about the leadership of the College Park Church of Christ. We pray that you find this informative and helpful in understanding the work at the College Park Church of Christ.
It is the ultimate desire of the College Park Church of Christ to be organized exactly as the New Testament commands. The scriptures have instructed evangelists to "set in order the things that are wanting and to ordain elders in every city" (Titus 1: 5). That has always and still is our intention. Phil. 1:1 states, "Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:" The College Park Church of Christ has ordained Bishops (Elders), Deacons and members (saints) just as the church at Philippi was organized some 2000 years ago. Brother Justin Springer, Ty Fleming, Wayne Lowry and Chase Palmer (Evangelists) ordained the following men as Elders and Deacons of the College Park Church of Christ on May 14, 2006. Our Elders (also known as Bishops or Pastors) are: Jerry Lowry has been a true blessing to the College Park congregation. He has been married to his lovely and godly wife Cathy for 27 years, marrying on April 13, 1979. Together, they are the loving parents of three children, Wayne, Brittany, and Trevor. All of these children are members of the Lord's church and have been a true blessing to our fellowship. Their oldest son Wayne is married to their favorite daughter-in law (at this time) Lacey and is an Evangelist working in the Channelview, Texas area. Brother Jerry is a graduate of the University of Houston and is involved in the business sector of the Greenspoint area of North Houston, but most importantly, he has dedicated himself to God, the leadership of his home, and the leadership of the College Park family. We as a congregation love Jerry and Cathy and their family and lift them up in prayer constantly. Leland Fleming has been a great asset to the College Park congregation. He has been married to a very God-fearing woman named Kathie for 25 years, marrying on June 6, 1981. Their marriage union has been blessed with 8 wonderful children that have truly blessed our congregation. David, Jennifer, Melody, Timothy, Merri-Ann, Samuel, Jonathan, and Amanda are their names. Their oldest daughter Jennifer has married a young man from the Crockett, Texas area named Jeremy Lee and they together have blessed Leland and Kathie's home with their first grandson named Ashton. All of the above have broadened our joy worshiping together with us at College Park. Leland is a good example of the scripture in Hebrews 13:7 stating, "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation." Our Deacons are: Ray Clark truly has the heart of a servant. Brother Ray is a very gentle individual but very diligent in his responsibilities to the College Park congregation. Brother Ray was ordained a Deacon in September of 2005 and has added tremendous quality to our Leadership team. Bro. Ray is married to his lovely wife Diane and they have two children, Jason and Sarah. They are also the happy grandparents of two grandsons, Dylan and Ryan, from the marriage of their son, Jason, and his wife, Jennifer. Brother Ray works in the downtown Houston area in the oil related business and sister Diane is retired from teaching. Ray and Diane have blessed the congregation in numerous ways, but their servant spirit is obvious. May the Lord richly bless them in their servant leadership of our congregation. Troy Conrad is one of the humblest individuals that you will ever meet. He and his wife Michelle have served the College Park congregation in the role of a Deacon for several years. Ever since Brother Troy was ordained a Deacon, he has lovingly and faithfully served the congregation in many efforts. Troy and Michelle have five children: Timothy, Stephanie, Zachary, Emily, and Natalie. Their family is certainly a blessing to the College Park family. Troy and Michelle have been married for 18 years. Troy works for the phone company and Michelle has dedicated herself as a homemaker. Craig Dillon was ordained a Deacon in September of 2005. He is married to his wonderful wife Angela and they have been married since June 8, 1985. Craig and Angela have three children named Seth, Ethan, and Grace. Brother Craig works for the city of Houston in the Fire Department and his wife Angela owns and operates Angel Pillows. She is a very talented seamstress, designing and creating pillows, shams, bed covers, etc. They both have been very instrumental in the evangelistic efforts of the College Park congregation. They love the Lord and have dedicated themselves to the spreading of the gospel. Their two sons, Seth and Ethan, are both members of the Lord's body and are also very helpful in the mission of the College Park congregation.
We lift up all of these men and women in our prayers as they labor in the gospel. May the Lord's countenance shine down upon them. These men and women are not perfect, they are however, in love with the Lord Jesus Christ and his kingdom. Our congregation loves them as our leaders and we are laboring with them for the same cause. Every member of the College Park congregation recognizes that the Leaders of the Lord's church grieve and pray for every soul that calls him/herself a member of the congregation. May the Lord bless these efforts. Evangelistic Efforts The congregation of the College Park Church of Christ is involved in many aspects of Evangelism. We believe that everyone should be involved evangelistically, however we are dedicated to support those who have devoted their lives to the gospel as Evangelists. We are involved in the support of Chase Palmer, Wayne Lowry, J.R. Smith, Justin Springer, Clint Goodman, and Larry Fambrough as Evangelists in other areas. We support missionary efforts in Nigeria and India. We are also involved in supporting Brother Ty Fleming who is involved in evangelistic efforts in many areas, but he makes College Park his home. The following is a biography of Brother Ty Fleming Ty Fleming was born on May 27, 1964 and grew up in the Pasadena, Deer Park and La Porte, TX area and was baptized into Christ on June 15, 1975 by Bro. Truman Teel. He graduated from La Porte High School in 1982. He then attended San Jacinto Junior College and received an Associate of Arts degree in 1987. He then attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Bro. Ty traveled with other Evangelists such as J Henderson of Plainview, Texas during his youth and he was ordained as an Evangelist of the Church of Christ in January of 1983 in Pasadena, Texas and has been working in the Lord's vineyard since. Bro. Ty has traveled to many states in the U.S. helping with Revivals, Gospel Meetings and Singing Instructions. In 1997, he was privileged to take a trip to Nigeria to assist with the work in that nation, returning again in 2004. Ty is also a licensed and code certified Real Estate Inspector since 1999 and owns AccurateInspect real estate inspection company in the north Houston area. In 1983-1984, Bro. Ty and his wife Lisa lived and worked with the church in Plainview, Texas. In 1984-1985, he worked with the Crockett St. Church of Christ in Cameron, Texas. From 1986-1993, he assisted in the work with the Morning Glory St. Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas. On September 26, 1993, Bro. Ty helped in the planting of a new congregation (Northeast Church of Christ) on FM 1314 in the Conroe, Texas area. After the ordination of Elders and Deacons at the Northeast Church of Christ, the Northeast and other congregations sent him to help in the planting of the congregation of the Lord's body at the Spring Creek Church of Christ (later merging with the Northeast Church of Christ and becoming the College Park congregation). Brother Ty is also very blessed with four daughters, Elizabeth and son-in-law Chase Palmer, and April, Amy, and Hannah. He and his wife Lisa are now looking forward to the birth of their first grandson named Josiah. Elizabeth and Chase are expecting in November. Brother Ty is also the host of the "Gospel Truth" radio program since 1998 airing weekly. If there is anything that the College Park leadership can do to help aid you in your Christian walk, please let us know. The journey is not always easy, but the destination is certain and worth every step of the way. This page last updated: April 29, 2007 08:20 PM |
